After last episode’s lift, the Bay Head cottage is now sitting four feet in the air on a forest of cribbing—and the crew has to build an entirely new first floor beneath it without disturbing that support structure. Framing around cribbing is not standard practice; every beam, post, and joist has to be fit around the temporary supports still holding the house up. On top of that, the second floor is getting improvements that weren’t in the original plan—changes that have to be coordinated now, before the walls close up.
