In this video, we are going to show you how to build a raised bed garden very cheaply using nothing but recycled and old materials. You don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars on fancy garden beds when you can make your own at almost zero cost.
We will walk you through every step of the process. First, we mark the area for our circular garden bed. Then, instead of buying wood or metal, we use old bamboo branches that were previously used as trellises. With the help of a stone and some rope, the bamboo is fixed firmly into the soil and tied together to make a strong border. To keep the soil inside, we recycle old cardboard containers, overlapping them to form a solid inner wall.
The filling is done in layers for the best plant growth. We add loamy soil for a strong foundation, dried dead grass for organic matter and aeration, another soil layer to lock it in, and finally a rich top layer of fully decomposed manure to feed plants naturally. A good watering activates microbes and settles everything in place.
